Who we are
Calendar Call Alert is a Chrome browser extension. It rings approximately one minute before your Google Meet starts so you can join with one click.
What data we access
When you connect your Google account, the extension requests read-only access to your primary Google Calendar using the scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly.
The extension reads only:
- Event titles
- Event start times
- Google Meet links attached to events
It does not read event descriptions, attendee lists, locations, attachments, or any other calendar data beyond what is needed to detect upcoming Meet events.
How we use your data
Your calendar data is used solely to:
- Detect upcoming Google Meet events within the current and following calendar day.
- Schedule a one-minute-before alert for each eligible event.
- Display the meeting title in the alert notification.
The data is never used for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to alerting you before your meetings.
Where your data is stored
All data stays on your device in Chrome's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local). Nothing is sent to any server or cloud service operated by this extension. The only network requests made are directly to Google's own Calendar API to fetch your events.
Cached event data is automatically purged when events are no longer within the scheduling window, when you disconnect your account, or when the extension is uninstalled.
Google API Services — Limited Use disclosure
Calendar Call Alert's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically:
- Calendar data is used only to detect upcoming Google Meet events and trigger timely alerts — nothing else.
- No human reads your calendar data.
- Your data is never transferred off your device to any third party.
- Your data is never used for advertising purposes.
- Your data is never used to train machine learning or AI models.
Data sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer your data to any third party. The extension makes no outbound requests except to Google's Calendar API on your behalf.
Data retention
The extension holds only the minimal event records needed to schedule pending alerts. These records are automatically discarded when:
- The event falls outside the today-and-tomorrow scheduling window.
- The event is cancelled or you decline it.
- You disconnect your Google account from the extension.
- You uninstall the extension (Chrome clears all local extension storage on uninstall).
Permissions
The extension requests only the permissions necessary for its stated purpose. See the Chrome Web Store listing for a plain-language explanation of each permission.
Children's privacy
This extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the extension after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
