Privacy Policy

Calendar Call Alert is a Chrome browser extension. It rings approximately one minute before Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams meetings on your primary Google Calendar so you can join with one click. An optional paid SMS service can text you a join link if you miss the desktop alert.

When you connect your Google account, the extension requests read-only access to your primary Google Calendar using the scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly.

The extension reads only what is needed to detect and alert on video meetings:

• Event titles and start/end times
• Google Calendar conference data and Meet links
• Location and description fields, scanned locally for Zoom or Teams invite URLs
• Each event's Google Calendar link, used so you can open the event from the popup

It does not read attendee lists, attachments, or other calendar data beyond what is needed to find upcoming video meetings and schedule alerts.

Your calendar data is used solely to:

1. Detect upcoming video meetings (Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams) within the next 7 days on your primary calendar.
2. Schedule a one-minute-before alert for each eligible event.
3. Display the meeting title and platform in notifications and the popup.
4. Store the meeting invite URL locally so Join can open it when you choose.
5. If you subscribe to SMS: send the meeting title, start time, and join URL to our server so we can text you via Twilio.

The data is never used for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to alerting you before your meetings.

All calendar data stays on your device in Chrome's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) unless you subscribe to SMS alerts. Calendar sync talks only to Google's Calendar API.

If you subscribe to SMS, we operate servers at calendarcallalert.com to store your Google account id, email, Stripe customer and subscription status, verified phone number, and each notify payload (meeting title, start time, and join URL) long enough to send the text via Twilio. We do not store attendees, descriptions, or your full calendar.

Cached event data on the device is automatically purged when events are no longer within the scheduling window, when you disconnect your account, or when the extension is uninstalled.

Calendar Call Alert's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically:

• Calendar data is used only to detect upcoming video meetings and trigger timely alerts — nothing else.
• No human reads your calendar data.
• Your calendar is not transferred off your device except the SMS notify payload if you opt in.
• Your data is never used for advertising purposes.
• Your data is never used to train machine learning or AI models.

We do not sell or rent your data. Calendar sync stays between the extension and Google. If you subscribe to SMS, we share with Stripe (payments), Twilio (verification codes and meeting texts), and our database host only what those services need to operate the service. Each SMS includes the meeting title, start time, and join URL.

We do not share, sell, or rent mobile phone numbers with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your number is used only to send the verification and meeting texts you opted into.

Optional SMS alerts require a verified mobile number. We use that number only to send: a one-time confirmation code when you verify the number; meeting texts (title, start time, and join URL) according to the setting you choose in the extension (all meetings or missed meetings); and a test text if you request one on the account page.

Message frequency varies. You may receive one verification text when you confirm your number, then meeting texts as your calendar alerts fire. Volume depends on how many video meetings you have and whether you chose all meetings or missed meetings only. We cap meeting and test texts at 40 per day per account.

Message and data rates may apply.

The extension holds only the minimal event records needed to schedule pending alerts. These records are automatically discarded when:

• The event falls outside the 7-day scheduling window.
• The event is cancelled or you decline it.
• You sign out in Settings (revokes the Google OAuth grant and clears cached calendar data).
• You uninstall the extension (Chrome clears all local extension storage on uninstall).

SMS account records (Google account id, email, Stripe customer id, subscription status, and verified phone number) stay on our server until you cancel billing and ask us to delete the account via the support page. Notify payloads are used to send the text and are not kept as a calendar archive.

Volume, Work Hours schedule, quick-mute state, dismissed occurrences, and snooze timing are stored locally in Chrome extension storage on your device. These preferences are never transmitted to any server. When you sign out in Settings, the extension revokes your Google OAuth grant, stops background calendar sync, and clears calendar events and alert state on your device; volume and Work Hours preferences remain until you change them.

This extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.

If this policy changes materially, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the extension after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
